I started my blog on if GMO's should be banned in the United States? I have come to the conclusion that It should be banned. Throughout my research on GMO's I have found more negative information than positive. It is still confusing as to why scientists disagree, but the evidence that I have found proving that it is harmful not only for humans but bees, animals, are environment is overwhelming. I still don't have answers as to why the FDA allowed GMO's to be passed without human studies done so I assume it has to do with political reasons and gain of profit. The sad reality is that we are eating very dangerous and harmful food and some don't even have a choice because they can’t afford to pay for organic food and even most of the seeds you buy to grow your own garden is already genetically modified. I have gone through several  studies about GMO's but  today I came across one   "GMOs not harmful to human health"  in the article it says Genetically engineered crops are safe for humans and animals to eat and have not caused increases in cancer, obesity, gastrointestinal illnesses, kidney disease, autism or allergies. When I was reading this I had to reread it several times how can they say that? numerous studies have shown that they are not safe and that they do cause harm such as the study done on rats in my previous post the rats developed tumors from GM foods or how about the  The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM)  who said  GM foods pose a serious health risk and calling for a moratorium on GM foods. May seem extreme to compare GM Foods to eating cardboard and plastic but maybe it’s not such a farfetched comparison. As a Nutritional value component may be filling but useless causes damage to our bodies system our bodies don't understand how to process it. GM food was given the okay to use a chemical called agent orange I am sure you have all heard of round up it contains agent orange as well but for GM food of course the makeup cocktail is different still they do not discount it may cause cancer. I have talked a lot about GMO's in the past few years, probably because my mom who does grow her own garden has concerns about it and the effect it has. She has open the door for me of wanting to know and educating myself and others about GMO's.
